Gelamà is one of the oldest wineries in the Alt Empordà. In 2007 the family's descendants embarked on the production of new wines, thus becoming one of the first wineries to produce single-variety wines in the Empordà.
Like their ancestors did in the 1870,s, Gelamà reinvented itself and began to produce sparkling wine, thus becoming the only sparkling wine manufacturer in the DO Empordà of its own production. Gelamà has 20 hectares and is distributed in several vineyards where, ecological wines are also produced. Different varieties of indigenous grapes are grown: Grenache Noir, Macabey, Carignan, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet.
For fermentation we also use amphorae’s, thus creating unique flavors and products, such as ancestral sparkling wine and sparkling wine Blanc de noir de Garnacha, among others.
